Deep within the mesmerizing rolling meadows, lived a boy named Shepherd. His existence was essentially unadulterated, simple, and honest. His primary duty was mainly to tend to his herd of sheep.

Their low murmuring and the murmuring of the wind among the solo tree on the peak were his only associates. Day upon day, watching over his wards instilled in him a notion of quiet fulfillment.

Yet, there were occasional moments of solitude, when the shepherd boy would pine for companionship. During one such occasion because of sheer boredom, the shepherd boy conceived a naughty plot.

Stories of predators prowling on sheep had been heard times and again in the village. So, the boy decided to used this fear and played a joke on the villagers.

One morning he dashed into the village shouting “Wolf! A wolf is that has taken my sheep!” The terrified villagers rushed up the hills for rescue but discovered no beast.

The boy laughed at the dilemma on their faces. This trick continued for a couple of more days. Yet, one morning, a real wolf did attack the herd. The shepherd boy dashed for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But read more this time, no one came.

Frustrated and alone, the boy battled against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his sheep. Heartbroken, he returned to the village only to be met with a reprimand on honesty and the repercussions of dishonesty.
